Yellowstone's Old Faithful Inn sits majestically among the geyser basin in Yellowstone National Park, surrounded by mountains. Although you know there are people everywhere, I painted a sense of a peaceful peek at the lodge through the trees from the Blue Star Spring point of view. This is watercolor on a gold paper, which gives it some sparkle as you walk by it. This is on paper and is not currently framed. The price reflects free shipping of this painting in an off-white 1" archival mat and backing board. You can easily pop it into any 8 x 8" frame yourself! Other options for framing are available, just contact me for details if you are interested in framing.
About Tonja Opperman
I love making art, but my day job is wildland firefighting. I fell backwards into fire management after earning a degree in Forestry. Most of the summer, I travel to fire assignments, predicting fire spread and behavior one day or several weeks in advance with the goal of helping managers make good decisions about ongoing wildfires. I've held positions in Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona, the Bitterroot National Forest in Montana, in Christchurch New Zealand, and Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming. Fire behavior prediction involves fire science, knowing the 'art' of fire, and some computer wizardry.
